UNIX Auto-Backup Quickstart
The following steps should be taken to set up, enable, and verify UNIX Auto-Backup. Auto-Backup is intended to backup your system automatically at a time that is most convenient for you. It is very important that Auto-Backup be enabled and checked daily. If you have any questions or experience any errors, please contact Computer Ease Technical Support as soon as possible.
 
To access Auto-Backup, select AUTO BACKUP MAINTENANCE from your main menu. The following screen will appear

1. Check Auto Backup State               4. View last complete backup
2. Reset Auto Backup
                     5. View Backup log
3. Disable Auto Backup
                                         7. Set Auto Backup Time

9.Exit

To verify the last backup was completed successfully, select 4 - View last complete backup.

At the prompt, "Summary Output?", you may answer Y.

There may be multiple screens of information, press <Enter> to scroll through the list of backup items. The last line of information should display
Verification Successful – Tape contents match the disk.
  • If the last line does display this message, select 5 – View Backup log. Verify the Last Date is accurate.
     
  • If the last line does not display this message, a manual backup must be performed.
Finally, replace the tape for the next day and select 2 - Reset Auto Backup.
